Crossroads Centre Antigua would like to acknowledge Dr. Michael Picucci as an "un-sung hero." We at Crossroads have known Dr. Picucci for several years and value his integrity, creativity and the honor and respect he provides to each of his clients. Dr. Picucci has a direct, yet gentle clinical style. His compassion for clients and their families affected by the disease of addiction makes him a stellar example of our profession. In addition to Dr. Picucci's clinical work, we also note his personal persistence and perseverance to not only survive his own life challenges, but to thrive and find meaning that he then shares with others. We respect his courage to continually reinvent himself, using that as fuel to grow in new areas of his professional career.

A noted scholar, author, lecturer and addiction psychologist, Dr. Michael Picucci brings decades of research and practice to Counseling, Psychotherapy, Focalizing and Consulting. His areas of expertise include Licensed Psychotherapist, Master Addictions Counselor, Sexologist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Organizational Consultant.

Michael recently spent his own 30th anniversary in recovery with the New York Crossroads alumni, sharing with them a journey beyond his wildest dreams; the journey that went beyond his early years to later include many years of academic research focused on people in advanced recovery. He expanded the Stage Two model of recovery that somatically resolves the posttraumatic stress issues that prevent many in recovery from experiencing the 12-step promises.

He has authored three books on healing and wholeness, and in 2000, was the recipient of the "Outstanding Leadership in Research" award co-jointly presented by National Institutes on Health, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and NAADAC. Dr. Picucci currently has a private practice and he is recognized by colleagues as an intuitive healer and pioneer in his field.
